As explained in the 'Environment' tab, the cottages are located on the plateau of the Artense, at the foot of the volcanoes of the Auvergne. The Artense is an area of where mountain agriculture is practiced. Various breeds of cattle can be found there, such as the Salers, the Limousine and the Montbeliarde cattle. On site, there is an organic farm where Aubrac cows are bred.

On request, we offer for any children (which are calm and respectful of animals) the opportunity to participate to the daily care of animals. These may include:

• feeding the cows and calves,

• moving the cows,

• feeding the horses.

 

In addition, we will explain the bases of the animal psychology to children. That is to say:

• observe their behaviors,

• understand the message that the animal is trying to transmit in adopting this behavior, 

• deduce what is the behavior that we, as humans, shoud adopt in order too get the most out of the exchange with the animal.

 

The farms in the surroundings

Other farms in the surroundings offer tours to visit their farms and taste products taht are made on site. You will find a list of farms in the tourism offices in the surrounding villages.
